There’s a lot you can do with Streamer™. It’s easy to get started. Just open a Chrome browser, go to www.streamer.center and login. Then click on your room, turn the mic on, and start captioning your speech. Here are some links you can use to get started:
If you will be captioning speech using an iPad or an iPhone, then you'll want to download the free Interact-Streamer app from the Apple play store. Why do we have a separate app for iOS devices? The answer is because by default Apple records any data generated by individuals when they use a microphone on iPads or iPhones. That goes against our privacy policy, so we wrote an app to get around that. All your voice data is encrypted, so your conversations are private and secure.
Configuring your Streamer System
As you probably already know, Streamer™ goes way beyond just being a private and secure captioning system. You and your students can use it to provide captioning and translation for any conversation, both on-campus or those happening in remote locations, and do so in pretty much any language. You can also share documents with others, send private messages to a student or broadcast messages to your entire class or student body, take notes during classroom lectures or perhaps an IEP meeting, and much more. The following are links to articles that will step you through the process of configuring Streamer for your situation(s).
